  • IP-guard Agent is running in the background of the operating system. The system uses a proprietary format which helps to minimize the resources usage by IP-guard Agent. As a result, the impact of the operation of IP-guard Agent on the other system operations is minimal.

Question: Is it possible to remove IP-guard Agent after installing it?
Answer:
  • Since IP-guard Agent is embedded into the core of the operating system. As a result, IP-guard Agent cannot be removed.

Question: As we cannot remove IP-guard Agent after installation, how can we manage it?
Answer:
  • User can use IP-guard Console to real time monitor and check the status of operation of the computer which is installed with an IP-guard Agent, and to control or uninstall IP-guard Agent as and when necessary.

Question: Is the file size of screen snapshots of IP-guard very large?
Answer:
  • IP-guard applies high efficient data compression technology. The system will capture the screen snapshots only when there is a change on the screen. The storage space needed for 1 hour is around 4 MB.

Question: What should I do if IP-guard Agents' name is missing on the Agent List after the installation of IP-guard
Answer:
  • You should first check whether the agent computer has any network problems.

  • Next, see whether IP-guard Server and IP-guard Agent are in the same network.


  • Lastly, check whether the number of IP-guard Agents added exceeds the maximum of IP-guard Agents designated for a particular IP-guard Server.

Question: I want to remote monitor IP-guard Agent. What should I do?
Answer:
  • Install IP-guard Remote Switch in the computer which is connected to the LAN where IP-guard Server and Agents located.

  • Allow Remote Switch to access Internet in order to receive the request from Remote Console.


  • In the Remote Console, enter the IP address of Remote Switch and remote monitoring is enabled.
